At LittleOak, we believe there’s more to Christmas than the gifts under the tree. From protecting our environment to giving back to our community to the wholesome ingredients we use, we're always striving to #givegood.
While many traditional baby and toddler milks are filled with added sugar, chemically extracted oils and synthetics, we make it a priority to keep our products wholesome and nutritious. Read on to learn more about the beautiful ingredients that we use here at LittleOak.
Fresh, whole goat milk
Let's start with the obvious one - our fresh whole goat milk comes straight from our farm in New Zealand's North Island. Naturally A2 and lower in lactose, goat milk is gentler on little tummies and easier to digest. Goat milk also has better bio-availability of key nutrients including iron, calcium and magnesium.
Naturally occurring prebiotics
And it doesn’t stop there—goat milk is also high in prebiotic oligosaccharides, which help promote a diverse gut microbiome (this is the collection of good bacteria, viruses and fungi that live in the large intestine). By feeding the good bacteria, these oligosaccharides promote good bacteria in the gut and maintain overall health and well-being.
Cold-pressed flaxseed oil
Oils are used in formulas to provide the essential fatty acid profile. While traditional formula brands on the market often use cheaper, mass-produced oils like palm oil and canola oil (also major contributors of deforestation), we only use beautiful cold-pressed flaxseed oil from New Zealand’s South Island to deliver the essential fatty acids.
Responsibly sourced DHA and ARA
Lastly, let’s talk about DHA and ARA – these are fatty acids commonly found in formula. Our DHA and ARA are responsibly and sustainably sourced from the highest quality clay extracted algae – better for baby, and for the environment as well.
